The performance and residual capacity of the battery is determined via a guide value measurement so that it is not loaded. For this purpose, the data of all Volkswagen battery types are stored on the device.

Other time-saving functions of the VAS 6161A are an open-circuit voltage measurement without waiting time, the storage of several results on the SD card, a temperature sensor that increases the quality of the measurement as well as an integrated printer that permits the analysis to be printed out immediately.
