The wheel alignment computer VAS 6421 is compatible with the VW operating concept. It is network and multimedia capable. All Group vehicles from Volkswagen AG can be aligned in accordance with the manufacturer`s specifications. Possible rim sizes range from 11" - 22" (optional up to 26")and even vehicles up to 5.4m wheelbase can be catered for. Measuring accuracy is in line with the specifications and is therefore well suited for modern vehicles.
The mobile equipment cabinet finished in VW corporate color contains a powerful brand PC with 20" TFT wide screen monitor, colour printer, keyboard, mouse and remote control. In the lower part of the equipment cabinet is storage space for special tools and accessories.
The 3D measuring system uses two high resolution digital cameras to determine a three dimensional image of the four reflectors attached to the wheels. The reflectors are passive components, which means that they require neither a power supply nor a cable. Raising of the vehicle or the axles is not necessary as 3D technology means that wheel runout compensation is not necessary. The actual measuring sequence itself is much shorter than a conventional wheel alignment computer.
The high resolution cameras automatically follow the reflectors when the vehicle is raised and lowered.
By the use of two camera pillars, a drive-through solution is also possible, e.g. for integration in a rolling road.
Permanent self calibration of the system even permits mobile use.
The 3D height gauge VAS 6421/2 transfers the height values wirelessly and without power supply (no batteries!) by way of 3D technology from Snap-on the wheel alignment computer.
The Windows control software is intuitive, self explanatory and can be used quickly and easily.
Information from the VW workshop manual can be called up and is displayed automatically on screen as soon as this is required.
The ADC/ACC setting is carried out very simply with just one additional digital camera, which means that removal of the front reflectors is no longer necessary.
